Our Inspiration
In the name of God, the Lord of Mercy, the Giver of Mercy
Our mission is rooted in the timeless guidance of the Qur’an:
Goodness does not consist in turning your faces towards the East or West. The truly good are those who believe in God and the Last Day, in the angels, the Scripture, and the prophets; who give away some of their wealth, however much they cherish it, to their relatives, to orphans, the needy, travelers, and beggars, and to liberate those in bondage; those who keep up the prayer and pay the prescribed alms; who keep pledges whenever they make them; who are steadfast in misfortune, adversity, and times of danger. These are the ones who are true, and it is they who are aware of God.
- Qur'an 2:177
We also draw guidance from the teachings of the Prophet and his family, who taught that every person with a spark of life has a right to sustenance, dignity, and opportunity. Their example reminds us that caring for others is not charity — it is a duty, a trust, and a path to God.
Whoever has a spark of life, ought to have a right to acquire sustenance!
— Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib (A.S.)
This spiritual foundation shapes our commitment to serve with sincerity, humility, and justice.
Why We Exist
Every community carries within it people who are struggling quietly — families facing hardship, students striving to learn, elders without support, newcomers trying to rebuild their lives, and individuals who simply need a hand to stand again.
We believe that:
No one should face hunger, hardship, or loneliness alone
Education is a right that opens doors for generations
Compassion is a shared responsibility
Service is a form of worship
A community is strongest when it lifts its most vulnerable members
Our work exists to honor these values and to help our community live them fully.
What we support
The Khaki Foundation supports projects that strengthen lives, restore dignity, and nurture hope.
Recognizing its modest scale and responsibility, the Foundation seeks to act as a catalyst, enabling efforts that others may carry forward.
Our work focuses on three core areas:
1. Essential Needs & Social Support:
We walk alongside those facing hardship by helping with:
Food and basic necessities
Emergency support during difficult times
Assistance for orphans, widows, refugees, and the unhoused
Our goal is simple: that no one in our community feels forgotten.
2. Education & Opportunity:
We believe education is a sacred trust and a pathway to independence. We support:
Organizations serving communities committed to improving their condition, with clear long‑term plans and shared responsibility (“skin in the game”)
Grants that strengthen teacher capacity through training, skill development, and the creation of needed educational content
Access to learning resources for students and families
Skills development and vocational pathways
Youth who aspire to build a better future
When one person learns, the entire community grows.
3. Building stronger community institutions
We help strengthen the community institutions that nurture belonging, preserve our values, and serve as anchors of compassion, learning, and collective resilience.
Our Commitment
We strive to serve with sincerity, humility, and integrity — honoring the teachings of our faith and the dignity of every person. Our work is not transactional; it is relational. It is about building a community where compassion is lived, not just spoken.
A Community of Care
The Khaki Foundation is not an organization apart from the community — it is an expression of the community’s heart. Together, we can nurture a culture where service is natural, compassion is shared, and every person feels seen and supported.
